The Bissell Proheat 2X Cleanshot is a pretty good system for cleaning carpets. We put it though a pretty rough work out, and had very satisfactory results with it.

 Good at Removing Regular Stains

I think we can all agree that pet stains are probably the worse thing to try and clean up.  Bissell's Proheat 2x Cleanshot is an upright machine with a lot of features.  The main feature is the ability to heat the tap water you put into the machine.  It will increase the temperature of the water up to another 25 degrees, and obviously keep it hot while you are using the device.  The advertisement says even the hose heats up the water as it goes through.  Pretty nifty right?

Everyone knows that tough stains come out easier with hot water.  This is one heck of a selling point.  So we put it to the test.  One of our team members has a few dogs and they have a carpet that really needed some attention.  It wasn't overly soiled, their place always looked nice, but as soon as you walk in the door you could detect that underlying "Pet smell".  You know what I'm talking about.  On the carpet there were 6 or 7 light pet stains, and some walk through traffic dirt from the winter.

We put hot tap water into the Bissell Proheat 2X Cleanshot, along with the Bissell Pet Odor & Stain Removal.  We used the Bissell OxyPro Pet Spray to pre-treat the areas and followed the instructions on each of the bottles to insure we were doing it the way Bissell said was effective.  We cleaned the entire room with the machine and I have to say I was pretty impressed by the Bissell.  It was easy to use, you could see it really going to work on the carpet.

We waited a few days for the carpet to really dry and went back to have a look.  The Bissell Proheat 2X Cleanshot was able to remove about 80% of the pet stains, and the carpet looked a lot better, the weather/winter traffic stains were gone completely.  For the price, the Bissell Proheat 2X Cleanshot is an excellent value.  It works well, is easy to use, and has a lot of power.

I'd have to give the Bissell Proheat 2X Cleanshot 3 out of 5 Stars.  It's a good solid above average machine with a lot of features and a great price point.
